May Day at Killeen Castle Golf Resort & Lodges

The 2^nd renewal of the WTC Fareteam Trophy took place at Killeen Castle Golf Resort on Wednesday 01 May.

Joined by our Brand Ambassador and Ladies European Tour professional, Olivia Mehaffey, the contestants teed off on a bright and breezy day.

Olivia played a few holes with each group and offered tips and advice to all, especially how to eagle a par 5 which was demonstrated with ease on the 12^th hole.

Everyone agreed it was a great experience to see a professional in action and all wish Olivia the very best for the rest of the season.

On the championship course, mayday was heard a few times as golf balls sunk in the water hazards on course but that didn’t deter the players and in a very closely fought round, the Singles competition was won by Martin Dempsey just pipping Damian Murphy and Dave O’Hagan.

But the heavyweight clash of the day between Team North and Team South came down to a mere 2 points and was won by Team North with a score of 113 to 111. 

The team made up of Damian Murphy, Terry Murphy, Stephen Aston and Gary Warnock received their trophy from Olivia and look forward to defending it next year.
